PANORAMA

Young video art from Israel

20.04.2013 - 02.06.2013

The news that regularly reaches us from Israel is rarely reassuring. Even if there are periods of apparent calm, the conflict continues to smolder unstoppably and permanently threatens to turn into violence. What is it like to live in a country under permanent threat? How can a normal life be created on the brink of assassinations and bombings? In a lounge, the exhibition unfolds a panorama of strategies for confronting the conflict with current Israeli videos. With humor and respect, the artists confront everyday events, historical realities or create visions of the future.

The films offer a glimpse of a very personal perspective of young artists who see Israel as their home and do not give up hope for peace. Their medium is art. Their films are performative, documentary, theatrical or use means of animation and always remain authentic and close to the stories that the country writes.
