Active archive of contemporary art in Hungary
Cabinet exhibition at the Center for Artists’ Publications.
Founded in Budapest in 1979 by Hungarian artist György Galántai and Julia Klaniczay, Artpool Archive is one of the seven major archives in Europe dedicated to collecting, archiving and preserving the artistic materials of the new alternative movements in art since the 1960s. The exhibition provides an overview of Artpool’s history and activities, as well as its unique collection of Eastern European artists’ publications, from samizdat to sound poetry. In cooperation with Artpool Art Research Center, Budapest.
