Cabinet exhibition at the Center for Artists’ Publications.

The Stuttgart artist Dietrich Fricker (1928-2011) was an outstanding draftsman and created numerous publications, collages and graphics on current topics. In them he criticized, among other things, consumer society, rearmament, xenophobia and environmental pollution or, from his own experience, the conditions in the “recovery bureaucracy”.

The material for his “Book of Forms,” which was also characterized by official language and its absurdities, was before his eyes almost daily as an employee in the Stuttgart compensation office. With an action like “Onanie der Medien” (Onanism of the Media), he positioned his art in public space.
In a cabinet exhibition, the Center for Artists’ Publications provides an insight into the multifaceted work of Dietrich Fricker.
