Marikke Heinz-Hoek

Linkepoot - Books and editions

27.01.2017 - 04.06.2017

Cabinet exhibition at the Center for Artists’ Publications

The video and installation artist Marikke Heinz-Hoek developed her first editions in the early 1990s through her involvement with the computer. In the following years, she created numerous works in small to unlimited editions. The preoccupation with the North German landscape and the examination of a wide variety of biographies are themes that recur in her editions. While the photo edition “Stardust 6” from 2015, for example, combines landscape drawings by the artist on original space photographs, a disk object from the 1990s deals with the life of Marilyn Monroe.

The exhibition of the Center for Artists’ Publications provides an overview of Marikke Heinz-Hoek’s editions and, in addition to artists’ books, artists’ postcards, and photo editions, includes in particular monitor objects, video editions, and sculptures as well as individual floppy disks, graphics, multiples, and calendars.
