For his artistic work, Peter Piller has always preferred the formats of artists’ publications. As a rule, he transfers selected groups of artistic works into the form of an artist’s book, a postcard or graphic edition. The images used come from the artist’s archive. They come from different contexts. For example, he has categorised about 7,000 press photos into more than 100 subject areas.
The cabinet exhibition presents all of Peter Piller’s artist publications. It thus creates a meta-archive, as it were, that archives the work of the archivist and artist.
