Was Bilder erzählen

Kinderkulturprojekt 2017/18 von QUARTIER gGmbh

The impressions from the exhibition 'Proof of Life - Lebenszeichen' are processed in the temporary workshops in the participating schools, playhouses, daycare centers, children's and youth facilities. Many questions arise and inspire the children and young people to come up with ideas. Here, 30 professional artists work together with the children and young people to raise the 'treasure trove of pictorial experience' and support the creation of their own ideas about it.

John Cage, Andrzej Dudek-Dürer, Robert Rehfeldt, Takako Saito – Artist mail in contemporary art

Cabinet exhibition in the Center for Artists' Publications

Letters, invitations, faxes, and postcards from artists are often works of art themselves. John Cage transforms his message into a mesostichon, in which the middle letters of the text, read one below the other, represent their own verse form related to the recipient. Andrzej Dudek-Dürer uses his graphic works simultaneously for his correspondence. Robert Rehfeldt writes and draws letters, which he reproduces as art letters and then adds individual greetings and stamp impressions.

Their range of media extends from painting to sculpture to performance and process art to photography, neon text works, conceptual art, and quite provocative and disturbing self-presentations.

MESH

Meisterschülerausstellung der HfK Bremen. Karin Hollweg Preis 2018

The title MESH already hints at it: Art can also be understood as a fabric that connects and holds together. It is about meaningful references and connections in which the relationship between subject and community, between individual settings and their tense coexistence comes into view. This interconnectedness and interweaving serves as a model of thought for the master student exhibition of the Hochschule für Künste Bremen 2018. This year, 14 artists present their latest works. The entire range of media is represented, from drawing, painting, and sculpture to expansive installations, video, performance, and a kinetic sound object.

What Paradise? - Collection Peters-Messer

I am not a piece of shit I am a piece of society - with letters powerfully painted on the canvas, the artist Bjarne Melgaard puts it in a nutshell: art demands its place in society. Since the mid-1990s, Florian Peters-Messer, a real estate entrepreneur from Viersen, has collected more than 350 works of contemporary, international art, which are being presented in this form for the first time in a museum context. The exhibition presents a pointed and sharply contoured selection of highly political, sometimes explosive works that address the social upheavals of our time in a critical, often oppressive way.

25 years of ARTIC Magazine - looking back to the future

Cabinet exhibition in the Center for Artists' Publications

Is ARTIC a magazine? Is ARTIC art? Is ARTIC a concept? ARTIC has driven booksellers, printers, designers, artists, authors and itself to the brink of despair. But maybe it also makes sense to do something that actually can't be done, because it turns the economy on its head.
