Junges Blut

Exhibition and cooperation project with Kunstschule Wandsbek

Junges Blut goes into the next round! For the fourth time, the cooperation project with the Kunstschule Wandsbek provides insight into the thinking and work of young people. Inspired by the large special exhibition "Cindy Sherman. Works from the Olbricht Collection", a group of students has developed their own works with exciting, sometimes very personal approaches. Physicality and sexuality, identity and role models, questions that play a major role in the work of the American artist, formed a fascinating starting point. Several photo series, large-format text works, and even sculptures and objects were created.

Exhibition at the Centre for Artists' Publications

ERIK STEINBRECHER ZUR KASSE BITTE is an experiment lasting over six months for which the artist Erik Steinbrecher sets up his studio in the exhibition space of the Centre for Artists’ Publications and is regularly present there. Erik Steinbrecher becomes a "living sculpture" (in progress) in a studio open to the public. André Thomkins

everywhere, but hovering

André Thomkins, (born 1930 in Lucerne, died 1985 in Berlin) numbers among the most interesting and multifaceted artistic positions of the postwar era. But outside his native country of Switzerland, his poetical, humorous creations with their joy in experimentation have been unjustifiably overshadowed by his artist friends such as Daniel Spoerri, George Brecht, Robert Filliou or Dieter Roth. In artistic circles, on the other hand, the two-time documenta participant has been highly esteemed for generations as an inspiring catalyst.

Andrea Bowers

Light and Gravity

For the American artist Andrea Bowers (born in 1965, lives in Los Angeles), political involvement and artistic work cannot be separated. For more than two decades, she has stood for an artistic position which combines a well-thought-through aesthetic practice with acute political observation from a feminist perspective. Her creative output is characterised by a masterly balance between activist resistance and its transfer into artistic language. The exhibition at the Weserburg Museum for Modern Art is presenting the very first survey exhibition of Bowers’ creative production.
